// DRUMS
I have been hitting things since age 4. My parents called it a phase. And I got in trouble when it was my sister.
My kit has more cymbals than a reasonable person needs and fewer cymbals than I want. This is a condition known medically as Meinl Deficit Disorder and there is no cure, only upgrades.
- Can play in 7/8 time - on accident, AND on purpose
- Hears every song as "needs more cowbell" regardless of genre
- Practice pad in most rooms. Yes, it has been in that room too. #FLAMtulence
// COMEDY
I do standup. Open mics, small clubs, the occasional venue where the PA sounds like it was fished out of a lake. I once performed for an audience of four people, two of whom were bartenders and one of whom was possibly asleep. Four stars. Would do again.
My comedic style has been described as "observational," or something else, but tbh I wasn't paying attention. My therapist has described it as "a lot to unpack."
- Has bombed in 3 states. Collecting the full set.
- Once workshopped a bit about telling anecdotes. It was great, you had to be there.
- Yes I have jokes about being a drummer, and if they don't land, at least I can still hit the rimshot.
// DESIGN
By day I make pixels behave... and if they don't, I have whips and chains. Logos, interfaces, systems, vibes — if it needs to look like something on purpose, I am your person. As a classically trained designer, I believe deeply in the grid, which is funny because I have been know to play in 5/4.
- 15+ years making things look intentional when they were accidents
- Strong opinions about proper keming.
- Thinks the feedback "make it bigger" should always require a Rita Repulsa gif
- This website is on-brand. I stand by all of it.
